As part of our ongoing Getting to Know Your Local Businesses series, this week we sat down with Charles M. Vieau, owner of Crust Pizza- Kingwood Docks!
Tell us a bit about your business: What does your business offer, and how long have you been around?
Crust Pizza started in 2011 in The Woodlands. In 2019 they started to accelerate growth through franchise relationships given the great receptivity in the community and serving high quality gourmet pizzas, pastas, salads and desserts in a family friendly environment. We brought Crust to Kingwood Docks in 2023 and are delighted to be here!
How did you decide to get involved in this line of work? How did the business get started?
After 18+ years in the financial services industry, and still involved in the commercial insurance segment today, we had been researching interesting food concepts to partner with for the past 5 years. We didn't want to start from scratch but wanted to take a successful operation and replicate that. After many years of eating at Crust outside our neighborhood, we decided to join their growing business with our own location in Kingwood Docks!
Tell us a couple things you are proud of about your business. What are you known for? What separates you from the competition?
Crust is a community minded restaurant. We aim to support the community we work in, as demonstrated by our partnerships with schools, church, not for profits, etcetera! The smiles on our customers’ faces are what make us come to work each day!
What is your favorite part of running this business?
Meeting so many great people in the Kingwood community. Seeing all the positive feedback we get on Kingwood.com. and working alongside our awesome team of people! We love to serve delicious food to great people and build those friendships!
Who is your ideal customer/client? Who do you serve best?
Our ideal customer is anyone that is looking for a friendly environment to enjoy mouthwatering pizzas, pastas, salads, desserts and share a beer or wine among family and friends!
Can you tell us something about yourself as the business owner? What is your background?
After moving to Houston in 2003 for work, I (Chuck) met and married my wife (Robin) in 2004, and now after 19 years married including 4 moves (3 domestic and 1 international), we are settled in Houston with two beautiful children ages 15 and 13, a Guinea Pig (Lucky), a Yellow Lab (ACE) and a Golden Retriever (Sadie).
Are there any special promotions, annual sales, or special events that you'd like to mention?

We appreciate all the work Civil Servants do for our community, so on an ongoing basis we offer discounts for our Police, Fire, EMT, Veterans, and First Responders!
• On Tuesday’s, we offer Kids Eat Free (12 and under from the kid’s menu, w/ adult entree)!
• On Wednesday’s (Wine Down Wednesday!), we offer 50% off Bottles and Glasses of Wine. Makes for a great date night!
Additionally, we will be working with organizations in the community, for example, Schools, Churches, and local Charities, to support them on a regular basis. Is there any other information you'd like your potential customers/clients to know about your business?
Our Grand Opening was Saturday, April 15th, 2023. We have been so warmly received by the community and feel very blessed. We look forward to serving Kingwood for a long time to come!
How do you see your business growing and improving over the next couple of years?
If we stick to our core of doing what’s right, serving delicious food to great people, and being good stewards in our community, we think the rest will follow!
